MAJOR STORMS MAY BE USED TO COMMIT FRAUD

As Hurricane Florence bears down on the Carolinas and we all hold out hope that our friends, family and fellow Americans will come out of this storm without harm, unscrupulous individuals are planning to use the tragedy and destruction to commit fraud.  This often comes in the form of malicious software disseminated in emails that advertise news or information about the storm of any charitable activities surrounding it.  As always, be suspicious of emails from senders you don’t know, especially those containing links or attachments that could lead to malicious software being loaded on your device.
