Getting Ready for the Spring Real Estate Rush

Spring has officially arrived in New Jersey.  Hold onto your hats, the rush is about to begin.  Now that winter has thawed, people are ready to make that move into their next home.  With homes closing as fast as they are listed it can be difficult to keep up.  Here are some tips to help you keep your cool when the market starts to get hot.

Use Your Communication Skills

Anxious clients often blow up your inbox or call you frequently.  Make sure that you keep your clients updated on a regular basis.  Let them know ahead of time that you will check in regularly and will keep them informed of any changes that take place.  Set aside some time each week to touch base with all of your clients.  They will thank you for it and most likely recommend you to others based on your customer service.

Make Sure Everyone is Prepared

Check to make sure that your buyers are pre-approved before hand and are ready to act quickly if a home they are looking for is available.  During your initial visit with your sellers, make sure that they understand up front what is expected of them so they can close the sale.

Don’t Neglect Your Marketing

This time of year certainly keeps you busy at all hours of the day.  Don’t neglect your marketing techniques you have been working on all winter.  If possible, take advantage of several apps out there to help automate some of your posts.  Any Interns or assistants can take care of some of the work for you so you can concentrate on the market.  You may want to consider a Virtual Assistant to do some of your social media.

Don’t Forget to Breathe

These days everyone is used to getting their information instantly.  We all know how quickly things happen this time of year.  Make sure that you set some time for yourself to take a break, even if it is for a cup of coffee at your favorite coffee shop.  You can’t think clearly with a busy mind and mistakes can be costly in this business.

We hope these tips, while small, will help you find a bit of sanity during this busy spring season.  Good luck and happy selling!
